Montreal winters are cold and windy, however, that’s no excuse to stay indoors. There are tons of seasonal fun activities and festivals in Montreal and all over Quebec.
It all kicks off with the Santa Clause parade (Défilé du Père Noël ) which has been a tradition since 1925 and it brings thousands of adults and children onto streets of Montreal to celebrate this wonderful event that welcomes Jolly Old Saint Nicholas himself.

If you really want to bring some holiday magic, don’t miss Montreal’s Christmas Fireworks at the Old Port every Saturday night in December.
Montreal Restaurant Week happens every January at the same time as the New York and Toronto’s Winterlicious. During this time a select number of high and mid-level restaurants reduce their prices by 30-40%.
If you like outdoor partying and enjoy raving to electronic music then watch out for Igloofest which is organised by the same team that puts on the summer’s Piknic Electronic events.
We all love chocolate. So what better way to celebrate winter than by attending the Je t’aime en chocolat event! This event, largest in Quebec, is devoted entirely to chocolate.
The month of February caters to Valentien’s day and what better place to celebrate than in the romantic city of Montreal. Dubbed as North America’s Paris, Montreal is sure to leave you and your beloved with wonderful romantic memories.
Nuit Blanc falls on the last Saturday of February. On this night Montreal stays up until the wee hours of the morning to feature 175 mostly free cultural, musical, culinary and sports-oriented activities available to the public.
